Know Who To Call
There are three key numbers in Ottawa to call for help and information. As the details of the services available among these numbers may be confusing, please take a few minutes to review these numbers and make sure you understand the different purposes of the services:
- 9-1-1 For life threatening emergencies: fire, medical, or crime in progress.
- 3-1-1 For any questions on services that the City of Ottawa provides: garbage and recycling, recreation programs, property tax bill, etc.
- 2-1-1 For information on government and community based health and social services: housing, elder abuse, meals for seniors & people with disabilities, etc.
